Same old chestnut

I have a customer who really want to install a box over the controllers of Daikin units.

As staff keep messing about with the temperature.

Has anyone any ideas ? as i haven't come across this before.

Why not remooving them and using only one centrilized controller?

These are really old units about 12- 15 years old,
Would a new central controller be compatible. ?

DOnt really want to take on a Logistics nightmare if you know what i mean ;)

The customer also wants to keep costs down :(

Shame they werent Mitsi units, as you can lock off the controllers :)

Yes you can get them, but not from Daikin, It was a while ago but I think I got one from Carrier. I was told at the time that RS suppliers do them as well.

You can get standard boxes from RS with clear, lockable, front.

OR

You could put the remotes above the ceiling.

OR

You could fit an interface card that "locks" the temp setting.

You could relocate all the controllers into his office so he has total control over everything :D

Tip of the day:

Buy some little metal key safes and put the controllers in them.

I wont charge you for that one. cc

Sounds like treating the symptom, rather than the cause. If staff are messing with the temperature it implies that they are not comfortable. Maybe the staff need educating about how the system works, or the system is too old to do the job?
