I have been a member of the forum for many years, but today is my first post. I am an employment recruiter in the U.S. I really enjoy reading some of the posts and learning from them. I am not an engineer, but certainly am in awe of the knowledge that is required to solve some of the problems that appear in these discussions. I know this is where the experts are. On another note, I have been searching for refrigeration engineers to network with that might be able to help me with a search for a design engineer with strong experience designing refrigerated warehouses. I am sure this group can direct me to those individuals. I appreciate all the help I can get.

Hi Joan and congratulations on your first post.

Nice introduction and we're glad that you enjoy it here.:)

It must be said that your post has been the softest and quietest advert for personnel that I have ever seen ;)

And a True Lady, as Joan omits her age. Note We have all been outmanovered by a female, For they truely are a remarkable species.
Joan if your post was from a guy we would all be screeming solisitation.
You must be very good at your job?
Also what does the referance to Gerry Maguire mean
( I have never seen the film, so I presume it may be a referance to that)?
Have you really been observing for nearly 7 yrs?

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

Yes, it is true, I did not list my age. I will leave it to each of your imagination as to age, height and weight. Let's just say I have been around long enough to spot a flirt and smooth talker Grizzly. And they say engineers are dull.

As for Jerry Maguire, you really need to go rent the movie. Jerry is an agent. In my business I am not only a Magnet For Talent, but your Lifetime Career Agent.

Now THAT is dangerous.

(But I normally end up saying that to all non engineers coming here)

Sadly no you just caught me in a nice frame of mind for a change.
Lets face it we all take our jobs pretty seriously at times. So it's allways nice to find a post that makes us smile.
The other guys on this post are normally the (how do you say) Prancksters:):):)

Incidently last time I was in the U.S.OF A. In Virginia
I googled Fridge Engineer and there were hundreds of vacancies. Sadly though as far as I could tell unless you were from an empoverished Nation or Ireland. Geting a green card was a distant dream.
Is this still the case?

Yes, it is still hard to obtain a green card and a long process. The U.S. (despite what you hear from the media) has more job opportunities for many types of engineers than we have qualified engineers. One of the reasons I am always recruiting for HVACR design engineers and electrical design engineers.
