I have been saying this for years. Piping is one of the most overlooked components used. A lot of people seem very concerned about the efficiency or performance of a component, then turn around and mess it up by:

a) improperly installing the piping, or
b) not selecting the proper pipe diameter

If the piping is not correct, then nothing else works the way it should.

Thanks for the article, I did not realize Ron had written an article on this. Where did you find this?

I have been saying that for years just not as well as that artical.

Ice man it is sure nice to see another Friggy so concerned with piping. It is so important it should be the 1st Element.

I have just found that ammonnia likes pretty piping jobs as much as I do. I hope our construction department likes this artical enough that I am not fixing Piping issues again this year.

Piping is one of those subjects that a lot of people think it is just running the pipe from point A to point B.

There are enough details with piping systems to occupy as much time talking about piping as selecting the main system components. More often than not, when a system does not work one of the main culprits is the piping system.

Then after we get done beating piping systems to death, we can start on the insulation systems. That is a whole can of worms unto itself!:D

Hi smpsmp45,

Are you talking about IIAR or IIR? You mentioned the name as "International Institute of Ammonia", which leads to my confusion.

Can you provide a link to a site so I may review this book?

Thanks very much.
