We have a client with an automation system which has an HVAC interface with Aprilaire only.

We are told that we should be able to use Aprilaire's 8870 thermostats (networked) instead of Mitsu's.

The obvious downside is that it will be a dumb interface, and we won't get any of the other G50 advantages.

Alternatively, has anyone ever written any programming to control a G50 through an API?

Thanks,

Michael

You should check out the Home Automated Living forums. They have really extensive knowledge of this system and how it works. I was trying to figure out some stuff regarding 8870/8818/8811 and how they interface and the MOD over there was super helpful.

Your first post is trying to poach a member to another forum, you sure have some brass neck to go with your covert (hyperlinks) sales pitch

Please check with ME usa whether will they disclose G-50/AG-150 XML protocol or not.
As far as I know there are only XML protocol for automation purposes beside BACnet and LonWorks.
