Got called out thursday to a farm with no ice in the tank and hot milk. Found a burnt wire on the run terminal. Replaced. Found all the capacitors blown:eek: Replaced with a new set and a relay for good measure.
Run it up and all sounded ok. But it was pulling 40A (should be 16A max), now ive got a new amp meter and when you turn it on it goes to DC and you need to press the 'mode' button to change it to AC. Whilst checking the meter was set right a wisp of smoke from the electrical box told me that the new electrics had gone the way of the first set:mad: Checked the voltage as it was trying to run and all was ok so i needed a new compressor:eek:
No answer from the usual suspects (nrs) but Paul at Aces ltd www.acescomp.co.uk (http://www.acescomp.co.uk) came to the rescue leaving his warm home to open up the wharehouse and change the oil in the rebuilt compressor to suit:)
Only took 12hours or so from leaving home to getting back, made a nice change from the chocs and tv:rolleyes:.
