I have a R409a system in a takeaway food shop with 3 evaps of the one condensing unit. One is a salad bar static coil the other 2 are 4 degree dx coils with fans.I are thinking of taking all of the 409a out of the system and replacing it with 134a.I realise I should change oil etc but I have heard that you can get by with a good vac and a drier change. The reason I am going down this path is the cost of 409a and other R12 drop in replacements are very high and I have a heap of 134a and would like to get rid of it.I would appreciate any advice. The reason for this exercise is yhe system is short of gas with pipework under floor and inside wall cavities finding the leak is not easy and the customer is looking for a cheap short term fix
