Hello everyone

I have a customer using 3 refrigerated containers - Microlink Carrier transcold R134a - as a long term temporary solution at a catering company.

The doors are very difficult to open and they want me to supply something similar to a normal cold store door.

Obviously can get these made up but has anyone any ideas of a supplier already offering this ?

Thanks to all

Merry Christmas.

Why are the doors difficult to open?
Is it because there is a lower pressure inside or are the doors themself the problem?

Hi Sanderh

Good question, I'm not sure. They are using a fork-lift to open them, presumably because the bolts / catches are tight.

I am sure all the latch rods on the doors just need to be cleaned and lubricated,

These units im sure were used for shipping overseas and have suffered alot from salt water which causes oxidization.

There are two rods and latch assy per door and when opening you must openm both latches athe same time in same sequence, they are designed to be a tight seal due to the fact of all the water that may enter the container when traveling overs seas.

Other doors could be fabricated but may take some extensive work in metal fabrication and welding.
