what should oil pressure dif be on carrier 5h 86/120?

It refers to an Oil pump convertion and an expected
oil pressure of 40 -60psi above suction. (1986 -5h/120.)

Hello Mik,

new to this forum, minimum oilp for proper lube is 25 psi above suction, minimum oilp for operating unloaders is 35 psi above suction, hope this helps.

With Carrier (or Carlyle) 5 series compressors, it depends on the oil you are using (viscosity) and the application, but generally, the oil pump delivery pressure is about 50 - 60 psi (3.5 - 4 bar) above suction. This assumes that you have a fully loaded compressor and the pump is running the right way.

Expect reductions in pressure for degrees of unloading in use and a drastic reduction if the pump is running in reverse!
