Hi

This time my question is very short:

Could anybody explain me the circuit of a hot glycol defrost?

Step by step, please :D

Bye

Relatively pure glycol is continuously sprayed on the coil, absorbing the moisture as it forms, then the glycol is heated to remove the moisture and pumped back to the coil, etc.

Hi Friobernal,
Hot (warm glycol) is used on wet systems. During refrigeration the room coil is cooled with chilled glycol, during defrost the warm glycol mains is diverted through the cooler for defrost.
This glycol is heated by haet reclaim from condenser de-superheaters or more usually heat reclaimed whilst cooling screw compressor oil circuits.
Systems such as this are employed in large Regional distribution Centers for supermarkets, with NH3 being the primary refrigerant.
