For R22 Low, Medium, High Temp ,the recommended oil is Mineral oil. For R134a Medium & High Temp, the recommended oil is POE.

For Ammonia at -40c you should stay away from mineral or Hydrotreated mineral oils as their pour point is too high about -31c. Maybe look at a PAO for the low temp application.

We used a hydro-treated PetroCanada Reflo 68A (http://www.petro-canada.ca/eng/prodserv/lubesgreases/pdf/IM7861e0406.pdf) with very good results on Ammonia at -40C after problems with standard mineral oils thickening up and high oil carry-over. The higher cost was offset by reduced oil carry-over. We carried out extensive monitoring over two years before fully converting. Sabroe recommended we tried the oil.

R22, use standard mineral oil.
