Does someone know a reliable source where I can see how heat a recessed spot dissipates in a room?
It depends of course on the lamp and the sort of reflector but some heat isn't coming in the room.
Most of the heat flows upward in the false ceiling and can't be seen as a real heat load in the room itselves.
Any comments on this?

Well, with an IR camera or video camera you would be able to see how the heat flows.

You can rent them from BSRIA

I'm particulary looking for a printed document to use in a case.

Are they meant to have those flame proof hoods/covers over the lights ( in case the room catches fire) and if so fitted would this affect the heat dissipation?
