I'm clearing a factory that had a large freezer on site and I have a bottle of R22 which was left on site by service contactors.
I understand its going to be outlawed next year and is getting hard to obtain.
How to dispose of it? Does it have a value ;)

Yes, it has a value and no it isn't outlawed just yet.

Talk to your refrigerant wholesaler and arrange for them to take it for disposal.

Don't forget to charge your customer for it is their waste.

Hi Mike

R22 is not yet outlawed and is readily available.

A virgin bottle of r22 cost us in the trade about £40 give or take a few shekels. :)

Are you sure it's virgin R22, an empty bottle, or could it be a bottle with reclaimed gas in?

Just phone a local fridge company or contact a local trade supplier, I'm sure they would be able to help you.

I may be able to barter it away as I have 2 split units sitting here that came from an office revamp, I'm hoping to get a local aircon guy to come in and gas them up once I have them installed, I know that they wont be R22 but maybe he can take it and use it somewhere.
Thanks for the swift replies.
